Your financial inputs stay in your browser.
Updated November 4, 2026
Calculations run locally. Financial information stays separate from advertising on educational guides.
Calculator memory and reports
AGI, tax-exempt interest and adjustments, MAGI, filing status, scenario inputs, coverage and results stay in temporary browser memory. They are not submitted, put in URLs, saved in cookies, local storage or databases, or passed to advertisers. There is no account, analytics or financial upload endpoint. Refreshing resets inputs.
Browser Back and Forward may restore a previous calculator document, including its draft inputs, from the browser's back/forward cache. Refresh the calculator to clear its inputs before leaving a shared device.
Appearance preference
Light is the default theme. Choosing Light or Dark saves only that choice under the local storage key “irmaa-ui-theme” on this device, so it survives page navigation and refresh. No financial values are stored with it. If browser storage is blocked, the choice lasts for the current document.
Printing or saving a report creates a document under your control. Your browser, printer and any cloud printing destination follow their own settings. We cannot delete copies you retain.
Page requests and hosting
Cloudflare hosts the public pages and assets. Ordinary connection information, including IP addresses, browser headers and timestamps, may be logged by that provider under its policies and configured retention. We do not promise a specific hosting-log retention period. Calculator pages use no-referrer. Financial values are not included in page addresses.
Advertising and cookies
Where advertising is served on educational guides, third-party vendors, including Google AdSense and its partners, use cookies and may use web beacons, device or online identifiers, IP addresses and page interactions to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and, where permitted, personalize advertising based on visits to this and other sites. DoubleClick and other Google technologies may be involved. These identifiers should not be described as anonymous.
Ad and consent-provider scripts are restricted to article documents. Opening an article from the financial workspace loads a separate document without calculator inputs or a financial report. An ordinary link back to the calculator starts fresh; browser Back may restore the earlier calculator from memory as described above. Financial inputs and results must never be used as targeting data, event parameters or URL values.
A separate educational host uses an origin-only referrer policy so the consent provider can identify the public site. It sends no page path, query, fragment or calculator information in that header. Calculator pages retain no-referrer. Educational links back to the calculator also suppress the referrer.
The calculator and scenario workspace load no advertising or consent scripts. On other pages, a publisher ownership meta tag and ads.txt declaration may identify the publisher without requesting ads or writing advertising cookies. The presence of these identifiers does not mean an advertisement has loaded.
Consent and privacy choices
Where required, including the EEA, UK and Switzerland, advertising needs a Google-certified consent platform and an applicable published consent message. This site's informational drawer is not a certified CMP. The optional loader fails closed unless the configured provider reports the required explicit purpose and Google-vendor consents. The same conservative gate applies elsewhere. Denial, absence or uncertainty means no ad request.
Use “Privacy and cookie choices” in the footer. On advertising-supported guides, it reopens the provider's revocation message when available. Withdrawal reloads the advertising document to stop its runtime. It cannot retroactively erase information already processed by a third party.
Manage personalization at Google My Ad Center (opens in a new tab), read Google's advertising technology policy (opens in a new tab), or use the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out (opens in a new tab) or AboutAds advertising choices (opens in a new tab). Browser cookie settings provide additional controls. Opting out of personalization does not necessarily remove ads on other sites.
Contact drafts and external links
The contact form prepares text locally and downloads it on request. It has no transmission endpoint. Choosing an email link opens your email application addressed to the displayed Moss Ladder contact, support or partnerships address; delivery uses your email provider. Do not include private financial or government identifying information.
External sources operate under their own policies. No embedded social widgets, remote fonts or third-party analytics are included.
Operator and updates
Operator: Moss Ladder. Use Contact and corrections for the published email addresses. Hosting or advertising records may require contacting the relevant provider; this site does not retain calculator figures.
Policy changes should describe actual deployed services and be dated. Read the editorial standards and terms.
